If you are planning a trip to London there are many places to stay. Different areas, each with lots of different benefits. It can be hard to decide where to stay. Which is why I’m putting together a few lists. Of all the instagrammable hotels in London by area. I’m starting my list with hotels in Victoria London.
Why am I starting with hotels in Victoria London? Well, not only is it close to a mainline station. Which has fast speed trains to Gatwick Airport. It has lots of restaurants, a few theatres, and has a tube station that goes to nearly everywhere. Not to mention that it’s close to sightseeing places such as Buckingham Palace.
Now, you could stay in any old hotel. There’s plenty around that area. But if you fancy something a little different. These hotels will be for you. Plus, Hetty Loves Food is all about Instagrammable food and places. So it makes perfect sense, for the hotels I feature, to be instagrammable too.
5 Instagrammable Hotels in Victoria London
The Artist Residence was opened in 2014 and has been praised for its original design, and friendly service. The hotel is on the small side. It only has 10 bedrooms. But it is mighty. It won the award of ‘London Hotel Of The Year’.
Each room is originally designed, with vintage furnishing, rustic wooden floors, and all the usual hotel essentials. Such as a flat-screen TV, a DAB radio, air con, and a beautifully designed bathroom.
The hotel also has a restaurant called The Cambridge Street Kitchen which serves hearty brunches, leisurely lunches, and dinners. Plus quick eats if you are in a rush. I’ve been told the Shakshuka is pretty tasty. However, it is hard to get that dish wrong. If you’d prefer to eat elsewhere, I’d highly recommend you, try out their speak-easy feel cocktail bar. All their cocktails are inspired by movie posters. Such as Airplane, Kill Bill and Anchorman.
The hotel is only a 10-minute walk from Victoria Train Station. It’s also in a nice location, that is only a 10-minute walk through Pimlico to the River Thames. It’s not too far from Westminster Abbey and Big Ben. It will take an average walker around 20 minutes to get there.
The Goring is one of the closest hotels, on the list of hotels in Victoria London, to the actual train station. It’s around a 5-minute walk. About the same time it will take you to walk from the hotel to Buckingham Palace.
The hotel itself is more on the traditional side. The elegantly designed rooms are spacious and many of them also have a private terrace. Can you imagine the amount of Instagrammable pictures you can take there? All the rooms have the essentials you’d expect from a 5-star hotel. Such as TV with on-demand films, free wifi, luxurious en-suite bathroom, and free fitness-club access.
When you stay at The Goring, they make you feel more like a resident than a guest. During the check-in process, they will seat you in the lounge, serve you tea and biscuits, whilst you complete the required paperwork. A refreshing experience after a long flight into London.
If you want to experience fine dining at your Hotel you can’t go wrong here. The chef cooks delicious meals using carefully selected British produce. By starting your day with a delicious traditional Full English Breakfast, to ending it with Salt Marsh lamb, braised lamb and haggis bun, shallot purée, seaweed tapenade, and fine wine. There’s something to suit everyone’s tastes. Especially if you want to feast on traditional English food.
As mentioned before, the location of this hotel is spot on for Victoria train station. Which makes it a perfect base for exploring Buckingham Palace, Sloane Square, Green Park, Knightsbridge, the Houses of Parliament, and Tate Britain.
Ok, so technically this hotel isn’t that close to Victoria train station. But it is close to Green Park. Which is only a short tube ride from Victoria. So, I’m including it on the list of hotels in Victoria London.
Located in the heart of Mayfair, this one of a kind, independent family run hotel, is beautiful. When you step into the Art Deco building, you’ll melt into a stylish and elegant hotel. Offering luxurious, contemporary rooms with a hint of Art Deco styling. Plus it has a Spa! All rooms are spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows, and are air-conditioned. As with all 5-star hotels in London, facilities include beautiful bathrooms, flat screen TVs and free WIFI.
If you are looking for a home-away-from-home, you’ll not go wrong here. They even have luxurious apartments to rent. Their friendly staff makes you feel like family. With guests saying, that it felt more like staying at a small country house, than staying in a big hotel in the city.
The Athenaeum also has an on-site restaurant called Galvin. Which is run by Chris and Jeff Galvin, who are Michelin-starred chefs. They offer delicious all-day dining options as well as a pretty good traditional afternoon tea.. An essential part of British life in my opinion. They also have a bar, offering decadent cocktails, craft spirits and whiskey.
The hotel might not be that close to Victoria train station. But it overlooks Green Park, which means it’s only a short walk to Buckingham Palace. If you rather walk than take public transport, it’s only a short walk to all the delights of Mayfair, Piccadilly and Oxford Street.
Don’t be fooled by the simple name of 41. This hotel feels more like a traditional London club than a hotel in central London. It’s only a short walk from Victoria train station, making it a perfect addition, to this list of hotels in Victoria London.
This luxurious hotel has striking instagrammable traditional rooms, and public areas. All rooms have a black-and-white theme, with handmade mattresses, luxury bedding, and much-needed air-conditioning. The bathrooms are beautiful! They are all marble, with fluffy towels and robes, plus Penhaligon’s toiletries.
The biggest selling point of 41 hotel? They offer free snacks and canapes! And not boring snacks at that. I’m talking fresh fruit, crisps, dried fruit and nuts, sweets, chocolate, and toffees. Plus, you can also get small tubs of Judes ice creams, and scones with jam and clotted cream. Close enough to be a free afternoon tea?! I think so!
Location wise, it’s pretty good. It’s tucked behind Buckingham Palace. Which means it makes for a perfect starting point for a morning run. Past Buckingham Palace and through the Royal Parks. It’s close enough to walk to Knightsbridge, Sloane Square, Belgravia, Mayfair, and Piccadilly.
The last but certainly not the least addition to my list of instagrammable Hotels in Victoria London is The Georgian House Hotel. Located 800 metres from Victoria train station. There is no need to grab a taxi.
The Georgian House Hotel is a unique award-winning hotel, that is split between a few sites, with all the charm and luxury of an English country hotel. Built in 1851, all rooms have been modernised to a high standard. No two rooms are the same. Each has been beautifully individually styled. With all the luxury modern comforts you’d expect from a 5-star hotel. They’ve done a marvelous job of incorporating the original features, such as ornate fireplaces and cornicing, with a thoroughly modern theme.
If you are a fan of Harry Potter you should request to stay in the Wizard Chambers. Tucked away behind a bookcase is a secret door to your room. Guests have to pass through a candlelit portrait-lined passageway, to get to their unique and fun chamber. The room makes you feel like you are in Hogwarts. With its gothic feel, stained glass windows, stone walls, archways, and cauldrons. It even has a four-poster bed, with velvet curtains, and other unique and interesting artifacts. Ok, so you might not learn any magic tricks, but the room will certainly make you feel like a wizard.
You don’t have to go far for a good breakfast. Their in-house restaurant, Pimlico Pantry, serves award-winning breakfast each morning. So, if you are after a continental or a full English, you’ll find delicious food to fuel your day. Or perhaps you want to indulge in an afternoon tea? You’ll be spoiled for choice. They have a good traditional one, as well as a very interesting, cheese afternoon tea.
The Georgian House Hotel is a great base for sightseeing around London. It’s less than a mile away from Buckingham Palace. A short walk to Sloane Square and the high-end shopping of Kings Road. Not only that, it’s a short walk to the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey.
As you’d expect for instagrammable locations. These hotels in Victoria London are not cheap to stay in. But the service and decor is well worth at least a nights stay for a special occasion. Especially the Wizards Chambers at The Georgian House Hotel! How cool does that sound and look?! There are plenty of affordable hotels in Victoria London. But affordable hotels don’t always have the fun and insta-worthy appeal that you are after. Let me know if you’d like a series on affordable hotels based on locations in London. I’ll put it on the schedule!
